PROGRAM & DAILY SCHEDULE



PROGRAM
Our Early Childhood Educational program
is child care with integrated on-site Playschool & Preschool.
It's a holistic approach to early childhood learning
taught in a small setting through a flexible daily rhythm schedule.

PLAYSCHOOL
(Ages: 0-5 yrs old. Nap-time: 0-3 yr old)
FOCUS: child-centered social-emotional development and life-skills.
by establishing healthy habits and independence skills such as
separating from parents, self-soothing, predictable daily routines,
self-feeding, managing meal dishes, clean-up, handwashing, self-dressing in outdoor gear, getting along with peers, safe play and potty training.
Group activities are experiences for children to express themselves through creative art, drama, music, dance/movement and nature. These activities are based on children's natural interests, calendar events, incorporate monthly core-concepts and are explored through a self-directed enriched learning environment.
No conventional plastic toys in this program instead it has custom wood equipment, hand made and fabric toys like kitchen play foods, dolls, play animals and loose parts like silk scarves, ribbon rings, textured mats, sheets, blankets, pillows, baskets, nugget blocks. As well as custom made wood childcare equipment kitchen, dollhouse, loft, quiet cube, slide, puppet theatre, stairs/boat, book shelf and a sensory table/light table/art table. Removing plastic toys reduces clutter, allows children to focus on creativity, imagination, sensory play, problem solving, physical activity and working with peers to develop new forms of play and games.


PRE-K PRESCHOOL
(Ages: 3-5yr old. No nap-time)
FOCUS: child-centered pre-academics and self-regulation skills
by transitioning to the preschool classroom to learn Pre-K skills such as
ability to work safely and quietly, independently or in a small group, respecting peers and listening to 2-3 step instructions.
Table top activities include academic materials and small loose parts at
art studio, Reggio provocations, Lego table, sensory table, sculpting table, light table, printing table, games/puzzles table, construction area, kitchen, and magnet board. Children practice using a pencil, colouring within lines, tracing, scissors, creative art, stringing beads, logic puzzles/games, problem solving, math concepts, pre-literacy skills, science, language development, organization, collaborative building with small parts, sculpting, sensory experiences and imaginative play.
The classroom functions as a 2nd "teacher" and is designed to be a
self-directed advanced learning area that prepares children to successfully transition and function independently in a kindergarten classroom setting.

OUTDOOR RECESS
FOCUS: child-led approach to nature immersion
Outdoor activities are self-exploration of the children's own current interests through unplanned self-directed play based activities.
Teachers are responsive co-learners to children’s current interests through collaborative inquiry-based play experiences in an enriched outdoor learning environment filled with natural and authentic learning materials
